WHAT IS A CSP SPEAKER – Certified Speaking Professional?

The designation Certified Speaking Professional (CSP Speaker) began in 1980. It’s the global speaking industry’s standard measure of professional speaking skills.

The CSP Speaker designation is conferred by Speaking Associations like Professional Speakers Australia (PSA) and the National Speakers Association in USA (NSA).

Like many industry certifications – it is a sign of professionalism and only awarded to speakers who have met the strict qualifying criteria and been approved by their peers.

You have to be a good, ethical speaker and demonstrate your expertise over time. You also need to be a current member of the PSA Association and stay up to date with speaking developments.

WHY CHOOSE A CERTIFIED SPEAKER (CSP)?

Just like every industry, there are practitioners with poor standards. The CSP designation is a hallmark of a quality speaker.

Professional Speakers have competency standards to meet and they have speaker ethics to adhere to.

Any speaker can put up a website and showreel and claim to be “Australia’s #1 Motivational Speaker” or “#1 expert” in their topic – so how can you tell the wheat from the chaff? Fake speakers can even hire a venue and make FAKE recordings of simulated event presentations.

Speaking Industry Awards, Professional Membership and Peer Recommendations are helpful to determine who is GENUINE and who is a FAKE Speaker .

WHAT IS PROFESSIONAL SPEAKERS AUSTRALIA ?

Professional Speakers Australia (PSA) is the peak body for speakers in Australia. It is an association that offers regular member meetings, speaker development workshops and an amazing annual convention. The PSA has a Speaker Code of Conduct which ensures ethical member behaviour.

PSA also bestows a range of annual speaker awards like Keynote Speaker of the Year, Educator of the Year and The Nevin Award.
